Treatment Definition : A film treatment is a summary of a film or television show. It should communicate all of the essential scenes, themes, and tone of the project to entice or pitch to buyers and producers into reading, developing, or even purchasing your idea. Film treatments are also referred to as story treatments, script treatments, and movie treatments.
Video games - A game treatment is a written summary of a game concept that included concept sketches of the game world and characters. In the gaming industry, game treatments are used to get feedback on game concepts, as well as pitch game concepts to get approval and funding to create them.
Film - The treatment of a film must create a clear and concise idea which will grab the attention of producers, directors and commissioners which will hopefully encourage them to invest into working on the project. It will involve characters which are featured in the film.
Differences - They are different as the treatments for a game involves a sketch of the world whereas in a film it is more focused on the script
Similarities - They both feature descriptions of characters which will be involved as this can help give a big insight to the layout of the game or film.
